The Anderson HomeSchool SONS pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Noble-Whitley Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (58), Anderson HomeSchool still had to take the loss.
Kailani McCloud and Matthew Eaks certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. McCloud dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Eaks went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 3 assists. McCloud is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Long, who scored eight points.
Noble-Whitley Warriors was led to victory by Caidyn Berna and Colt Kirkpatrick. Berna dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Kirkpatrick scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Berna's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Shad Gaff, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Anderson HomeSchool has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Noble-Whitley Warriors, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson HomeSchool and Columbus HomeSchool will face off at 7:40 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Columbus HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 538 points over their last eight matches. As for Noble-Whitley Warriors, they will head out on the road to take on Capital HomeSchool at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday.
