The Dupo Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 56-51 win over Maryville Christian. The victory was some much needed relief for Dupo as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Addison Mitchell had a dynamite game for Dupo, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Mitchell is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily McMannis, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Dupo's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17. As for Maryville Christian, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Dupo will take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully New Athens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Monday. As for Maryville Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
