The Michigan Lutheran Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Dowagiac Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Michigan Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Dowagiac will be coming in after a defeat.
Michigan Lutheran is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Ty Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Michigan Lutheran: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Ben Liebich was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Abele, who earned three runs and three stolen bases.
Michigan Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dowagiac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Bridgman.
Chase Frazier was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
The win got Michigan Lutheran back to even at 7-7. As for Dowagiac, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Dowagiac's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Michigan Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318.
