Leesburg hasn't had much luck against Belleview recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will welcome the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Belleview will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Leesburg extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Eastside. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rachel Chiles made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Leesburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only posted an OBP of .476.
Meanwhile, Belleview got the win against P.K. Yonge on Friday by a conclusive 8-2.
Like Leesburg, Belleview also got a great game from a two-way player: Ally Axe. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Axe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Belleview let Harper Foote and Mackenzie Quartararo run wild. Foote scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Quartararo scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Randi O'Cull, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Belleview's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Leesburg, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
Leesburg's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Yellow Jackets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Belleview, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Leesburg continue to outrun the ball?
Leesburg might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Belleview in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Will the Yellow Jackets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
