The Bellaire Cardinals have not lost a match since January 13th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They beat Cesar E. Chavez by a goal, winning 2-1. That's another feather in the cap for Bellaire, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Carlos Jasso and
Sayf Elkousy, who scored both of Bellaire's goals. The pair have combined for a total of three so far this season.
Bellaire's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-6. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-9-4 record this season.
Bellaire will be playing at home against Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellaire's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will head out on the road to face off against Heights at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Heights' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
