The Balboa Buccaneers lost against the Galileo Lions back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Balboa took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Balboa has struggled against the Lions recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Balboa had strong showings from Je'Mon Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, and Sam San Juan, who scored six points along with three steals. San Juan hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Alan Ly, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Balboa has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Galileo, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Balboa will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Washington is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Galileo, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
