The Morgan Huskies had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against Avon by a score of 46-35.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Johnson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Sadie Passante was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Morgan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Avon, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Portland at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. Portland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Avon, they will be playing at home against Hartford Public at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
