School of the Future is 0-3 against Beacon since March of 2025 but things could change on Thursday. School of the Future will head out to face off against Beacon at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, School of the Future needed a bit of extra time to put away Lab Museum United. They won by a run and slipped past Lab Museum United 10-9.
Meanwhile, Beacon won against Bergtraum on Monday with 22 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over Norman Thomas. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Joey Luria was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Luria was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with seven stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Elin Turco was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Abby Valdez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Beacon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .684. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
School of the Future is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Beacon, their record is now 8-1.
School of the Future suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Beacon in their previous matchup last Wednesday. Can School of the Future avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
