Columbus is 0-1 against Crisp County since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Columbus Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Crisp County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Columbus is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Columbus fell victim to Thomasville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 51-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Columbus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Thomasville is ranked 118th).
Meanwhile, Crisp County ended up a good deal behind Carver on Friday and lost 24-7. Crisp County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Crisp County saw an underclassman step up: Deshaun Fedd picked up 216 receiving yards.
The losses dropped Columbus to 1-7 and Crisp County to 4-4.
Columbus took a serious blow against Crisp County in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 52-10. Will Columbus have more luck at home instead of on the road?
