The Roxana Shells scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-52 victory over Litchfield. The win was just what Roxana needed coming off of a 50-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Roxana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sean Maberry, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maberry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Walleck, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Litchfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tate Dobrinich, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keenan Powell, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Roxana's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Litchfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9.
Roxana will face off against Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Litchfield on the road again on Saturday and play against Nokomis at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Nokomis is ranked 345th, while Litchfield is ranked 356th).
