Eastside is 8-1 against Hillcrest since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eastside Eagles will be playing at home against the Hillcrest Rams at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Eastside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Eastside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it three. They walked away with a 41-32 win over Travelers Rest.
Eastside can attribute much of their success to Ginny Anne Dumont , who scored 8 points along with 3 steals, and Kristen McBride , who scored 6 points along with 6 steals. McBride is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaylan Hickman was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 36-35 to Laurens. Hillcrest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eastside's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Travelers Rest's defeat dropped them down to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Eastside against Hillcrest in their previous matchup on Friday as the team secured a 75-19 victory. Does Eastside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hillcrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
