The Cypress Creek Bears will take on the Lake Nona Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Cypress Creek beats Lake Nona with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Cypress Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Tohopekaliga on Thursday, sneaking past 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.
Adrian Medina was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Camacaro, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Lake Nona entered their tilt with Gateway on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 8-2. Considering the Lions have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryland Happel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Inman, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Fabian Gavalo was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Lake Nona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway only posted a batting average of .200.
Lake Nona pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cypress Creek, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Cypress Creek came up short against Lake Nona in their previous meeting back in February, falling 6-2. Will Cypress Creek have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
