The Biggsville West Central Heat were the 56-30 winner over the Monmouth United Red Storm when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. Biggsville West Central took a 50-33 bruising from Monmouth United on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Biggsville West Central has scored all season.
Loss or not, Biggsville West Central got some senior leadership from Shelby Bowman who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Samantha Meyer who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals. Bowman scored a full 66.7% of Biggsville West Central's points, the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Biggsville West Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Biggsville West Central and nudges their season record down to 9-4. As for Monmouth United, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggsville West Central is on the road again on Monday and play against Macomb at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for Monmouth United, they will square off against Biggsville West Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Biggsville West Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
