On Friday California Military Institute take on Saddleback Valley Christian at Laguna Hills at 7:00 PM. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, California Military Institute now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
After a dominant win in their game three weeks ago, California Military Institute were humbled last Friday. They took a 40-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Murrieta. Senior Jordan Aubert and junior Joseph Milner were two go-getters for California Military Institute despite the defeat. The former rushed for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns, while the latter rushed for 135 yards and 3 touchdowns. Aubert has been a consistent playmaker for California Military Institute as this was the 7th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Saddleback Valley Christian took an ego-bruising loss against El Toro four weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back two weeks ago. Saddleback Valley Christian snuck past The Webb Schools with a 26-21 victory.
Saddleback Valley Christian's win lifted them to 2-5 while California Military Institute's loss dropped them down to 3-4. In their victory, Saddleback Valley Christian relied heavily on senior Jack Sweeney, who punched in 3 rushing TDs and accumulated 209 passing yards. California Military Institute will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
