The Starks Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Westlake Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Starks will be strutting in after a victory while Westlake will be coming in after a loss.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Starks turned things around against Johnson Bayou on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 27-4 margin over the Rebels. That 23-run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Charleigh Landry made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had over her last three contests. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Starks got a massive performance out of Kynzlie Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kynslee Stinson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
Starks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .789. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Westlake came up short against DeRidder on Friday, falling 10-4.
Emma Hutchinson and Hallie Wilrye did some serious damage despite the final result: Hutchinson went 3-for-4 with one triple and one double, while Wilrye went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That double was Hutchinson's first of the season.
The win got Starks back to even at 7-7. As for Westlake, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Starks might still be hurting after the 19-4 defeat they got from Westlake when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
