South Elgin has gone 9-1 against Glenbard South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Storm will be playing at home against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
South Elgin came out on top against West Aurora on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Storm blew past the Blackhawks 8-1. Considering the Storm have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zacharia Barkho tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justin Pold and Connor Lund did most of the damage at the plate: Pold went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Lund went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. South Elgin is undefeated when Pold posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Glenbard South made easy work of Ridgewood on Tuesday and carried off a 10-2 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Lucas Wilder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nicky Louapre, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tim Ewald, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
South Elgin is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Glenbard South, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
South Elgin couldn't quite finish off Glenbard South when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
