The Smithsburg Leopards won the last time they faced the Williamsport Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Smithsburg walked away with a 42-32 victory over Williamsport. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Smithsburg.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Smithsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Bono, who scored 16 points along with five steals and two blocks. Bono is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Skyla Mastronardi was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Smithsburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Williamsport, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Smithsburg on the road again on Monday and play against Boonsboro on January 29th. Boonsboro will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Williamsport, they will face off against Middletown at TBD on Tuesday.
