While losing is never fun, Jim Thorpe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Panther Valley is ranked 286th).
Chase Weaver was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Thomas Buyce, who scored 12 points.
Jim Thorpe bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Panther Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Jim Thorpe will be playing at home against Saucon Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Saucon Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Panther Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Catasauqua at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
