The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crisp Academy in their matchups with Grace Christian Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Crisp Academy saw an underclassman step up: Reese Reed scored 27 points along with four steals. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Ellenberg, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Crisp Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crisp Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. George's at 3:30 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (St. George's is ranked 555th, while Crisp Academy is ranked 575th). Grace Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Fullington Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th.
