The McDermitt Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlin and snuck past 40-37. For McDermitt, this counts as revenge for the 43-24 defeat the Railroaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Leading McDermitt to victory were Shandon Camas and Warrick Crutcher. Camas dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 rebounds, while Crutcher dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crutcher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josh Northrup, who scored seven points along with six steals.
McDermitt's win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-15. As for Carlin, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-18.
McDermitt will take on the Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carlin, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (McDermitt is ranked 109th, while the Railroaders are ranked 115th).
