The McCollum Cowboys will head out to face off against the Tivy Antlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
McCollum was handed a 34-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Veterans Memorial 24-21. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cowboys as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jordan Casares continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also catching one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: McCollum was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Tivy on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Veterans Memorial out of the water with a 56-25 final score. Considering the Antlers have won four games by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tivy's win came from a few key players McCollum will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Guy Flores, who picked up 101 receiving yards and four TDs. Those four receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. President Calamaco also helped with two scores in total.
One reason for the win was Tivy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tomas Arreola, George Eastland, and Quin Van Gundy, who each picked up one sack apiece. Arreola was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles.
McCollum's record now sits at 2-4. As for Tivy, their record is now 5-2.
McCollum was dealt a bruising 55-20 defeat at the hands of Tivy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cowboys, Peyton Bailey (who threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only five carries) won't be suiting up this time.
