AA Dulles recap Oct. 16, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Potomac Falls, who took down 133rd ranked Loudoun Valley, 22-13.
Briar Woods extended the longest winning streak in AA Dulles this week by beating Heritage, 54-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Falcons.
Briar Woods' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trace McSorley threw for 117 and two touchdowns and Devin Ramos had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Cory Colder chipped in 143 yards. Tristan Miller helped Briar Woods' passing attack out by catching one ball for 29 yards.
Briar Woods' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. McSorley has thrown for 1399 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Cameron Serigne has 29 catches for 502 yards. Colder leads the league in rushing with 699 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Loudoun County. Potomac Falls is currently in sixth, while the Raiders are in third.
Mike Gims' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,324 from 7,260. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 22-13 victory over the Vikings last week.
