The Natalia Mustangs will face off against the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Natalia gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Dilley as they made off with a 13-2 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Anaya Jones

04/11/25 vs Cotulla | 4 |
03/21/25 vs Crystal City | 4 |
03/04/25 vs Luling | 2 |
02/14/25 @ Edison | 2 |
The team relied heavily on Anaya Jones, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yahdi Lujan, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Uvalde, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Floresville 11-10 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
BELLA BUENO was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. SOPHIA LONGORIA was another key player, scoring a run while going 4-for-5.
Uvalde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Natalia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Uvalde, the win got them back to even at 13-13-1.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Natalia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. However, it's not like Uvalde struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Natalia beat Uvalde 8-5 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
