Two dominant in Kaci Demps and Jermiyah Ramsey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lowndes Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Brunswick Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowndes will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Lowndes has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Brunswick at home to the tune of 69-37. Given Lowndes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Brunswick is ranked 71st), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lowndes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kimora Wade out in front who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Aryana Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Their wins bumped Lowndes to 6-0 and Brunswick to 2-1.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lowndes hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 66.7 points per game. It's a different story for Brunswick, though, as they've been averaging only 59.8 per game. The only thing between Lowndes and another offensive beatdown is Brunswick. Will they be able to keep them contained? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Everything came up roses for Lowndes against Brunswick in their previous meeting last Friday as the squad secured a 69-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lowndes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
