Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Raiders vs. Beamer Titans

Jefferson is 1-9 against Beamer since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jefferson Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Beamer Titans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jefferson is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. The game between them and Kentlake didn't end well, with Jefferson falling 76-57. One positive for the Raiders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Khamari Johnson went 8 of 15 from beyond the arc on his way to 34 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew McQuade, who posted ten points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Jefferson was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Beamer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountlake Terrace.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Beamer, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Jefferson was dealt a bruising 85-53 loss at the hands of Beamer in their previous matchup back in February. Thankfully for Jefferson, Will Tellis (who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
