The Dale County Warriors lost against the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dale County lost to Booker T. Washington on the road by a decisive 40-26 margin. While losing is never fun, Dale County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 112th).
Booker T. Washington was led to victory by Adean Glover and Joseph Phillips. Glover rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while Phillips rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Phillips was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Another big playmaker for Booker T. Washington was Marquez Daniel, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Dale County's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Montgomery Catholic and 9-1 Andalusia (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.7% over those games). As for Booker T. Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Dale County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Booker T. Washington will head out on the road to face off against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike Road knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Booker T. Washington likes a good challenge.
