First Baptist Christian is 0-4 against John Paul the Great Academy since August of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Guardians at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
First Baptist Christian will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Northshore V, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Eagles blew past the Vultures, posting a 50-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

First Baptist Christian can attribute much of their success to Judah Pritchard, who rushed for 15 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 70 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Pritchard a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: First Baptist Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
First Baptist Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nate Hill. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16.
Meanwhile, John Paul the Great Academy won against Freedom Life Academy two weeks ago with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Guardians breezed past Northshore V to the tune of 74-0. Fans of the Guardians have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
John Paul the Great Academy's win came from a few key players First Baptist Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Daniel Charpentier, who rushed for 82 yards and three scores, and also threw for 28 yards and one touchdown. Riley Lormand was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and three TDs.
John Paul the Great Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for First Baptist Christian, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. First Baptist Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like John Paul the Great Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 321.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's match turns into a tough fight on the ground.
First Baptist Christian was taken down by John Paul the Great Academy 46-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Brylon Garrick (who rushed for 149 yards and four scores on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
