Woodstock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Etowah Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Woodstock came up short against Rome and fell 73-61. While losing is never fun, Woodstock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Rome is ranked 50th).
Meanwhile, Etowah can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They breezed by Dunwoody at home to the tune of 69-9. The win was nothing new for Etowah as they're now sitting on three straight.
Woodstock's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Etowah, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
Woodstock didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Etowah in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 68-62 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Etowah's Megan Reed, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 16 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Woodstock still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
