Softball Recap: Belvidere North Has No Trouble Against Belvidere

Belvidere North barely beat Belvidere the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Thunder put the hurt on the Bucs with a sharp 16-0 win on Monday. The Blue Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Jenna Yakey and Isabelle Schadle did most of the damage at the plate: Yakey went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Schadle went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Yakey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Hallie Inman was another key player, getting a hit.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Belvidere North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Belvidere North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Belvidere, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
