Tri-County recap September 10, 2013
Brice Mueller and David Holland provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Father Tolton. The connection was good for 56 yards, the longest such play in Tri-County this season.
Eldon was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. The Mustangs defeated Buffalo 41-14 earlier in the week.
Joe Forge provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hallsville topped Paris. He completed 6 passes for 157 yards and also ran for 59 yards. Forge's key target this week was Gabe Breuer, who caught 2 passes for 69 yards.
Skyler Creed was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 166 yards as the Indians bested the Coyotes.
Mueller put up the best numbers through the air as Southern Boone beat Father Tolton. He finished with 7 completions for 119 yards. Mueller's favorite target this week was Colin Vaughan, who caught 3 passes for 54 yards.
Breuer was the best wideout in Tri-County this week as Hallsville defeated Paris. Austin Cochran helped Hallsville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 52 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Eagles' Vaughan goes up against Osage's JAKE ULMER.
Next week's game between Southern Boone and the Indians will feature a good passing match up as Mueller will test his arm against ULMER's defensive ability. Southern Boone's Mueller has recorded 275 yards and 1 touchdowns this year, while Osage's ULMER has 1 interceptions to his name.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Devin Johnson's team takes on Blair Oaks. As it stands, the Indians are in second, while the Falcons are in sixth.
Warsaw scaled the state rankings by moving to 165 from 194 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping Cole Camp 49-25.
