The Conway Springs Cardinals were the 55-44 winner over the Chaparral Roadrunners when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Conway Springs fell 57-50 to Chaparral on Tuesday. Conway Springs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Conway Springs still got an impressive performance from Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ava Daniel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Kaylee Swartz was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for Chaparral. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swartz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paige Swingle, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Conway Springs' loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Chaparral, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conway Springs will take on Collegiate at TBD on Tuesday. Collegiate comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Chaparral, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Moundridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Cammi Unruh and Auburn Hill.
