The Currituck County Knights put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pasquotank County 52-20 at home. Currituck County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Currituck County found their leader in underclassman Arianna White, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that White pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Parker, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 11 blocks. Bowe is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pasquotank County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Currituck County pulled down 27 offensive rebounds.
Currituck County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Pasquotank County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Currituck County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bear Grass Charter at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Bear Grass Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday. Pasquotank County is on the road again on Friday and play against Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Camden County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
