Hudson has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Hernando Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernando took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hudson, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Hudson's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 54-50 W over Pasco. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 31% better than the opposition, as Hudson's was.
Terrance Davis was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tejacion Chapman, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Hernando pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mulberry 61-57. Hernando has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Josiah Wright, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Daniel Merizalde was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Hudson's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Hernando, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Hudson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-55 loss to the Leopards in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hudson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
