Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Overbrook). They blew past the Motivation Jaguars 94-70 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since December 20, 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Overbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jalen Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Holmes also grabbed eight steals, which is notable because Overbrook is 4-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 5-10 otherwise. Hamza Swaray was another key player, going 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points and three steals.
Overbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Motivation only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Despite the loss, Motivation still got an impressive performance from Chace White, who went 10 of 22 en route to 26 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Divevea Smith, who posted four points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Overbrook's record now sits at 9-12. As for Motivation, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.
Looking ahead, Overbrook will head out on the road to square off against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
