After losing to the Winston County Yellowjackets the last time they met, the Carbon Hill Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Carbon Hill strolled past Winston County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carbon Hill.
Winston County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lynleigh Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cobb scored a full 28.9% of Winston County's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Kennedy, who scored 3 points.
The win got Carbon Hill back to even at 2-2. As for Winston County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbon Hill will take on Fayette County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fayette County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Winston County, they will head out on the road to face off against Hackleburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
