Fletcher is a perfect 8-0 against Baldwin since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Senators will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Fletcher has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Fletcher fell victim to Orange Park and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0.
Henry Manley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Fletcher saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lewis Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Stewart's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Baldwin can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Baker County.
Lukas Presley and Carson Duffy dominated on the mound. Presley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Duffy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Baldwin is 3-1 when Duffy allows two or fewer hits, but 2-6 otherwise.
Fletcher has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.71 runs. As for Baldwin, their record is now 5-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fletcher has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Baldwin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Fletcher's way against Baldwin in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Fletcher made off with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
