This was payback for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, who suffered a 55-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Capital Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amare Cockfield. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Cockfield is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Siah Evans, who scored 12 points.
Academy of Aerospace and Engineering's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Capital Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Academy of Aerospace and Engineering will be playing in front of their home fans against Bulkeley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Capital Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Academy of Science and Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
