San Manuel had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Superior Panthers, falling 26-17. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 back in March.

Leanna Duke stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Marisela Guisa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
As for Superior, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2-1 record this season. Considering they have won 12 games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Superior's side, Lessenia Ramirez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Ramirez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Noelle Duarte and Savannah Magallanez did most of the damage at the plate: Duarte went 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs, while Magallanez went 4-for-5 with five runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Duarte a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Mendez, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. San Manuel will head out to face off against Desert Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Miners will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Superior, they are taking a road trip to take on Mogollon at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
