Whiteoak is 0-9 against Lynchburg-Clay since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Whiteoak Wildcats will be staying on the road to face off against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th.
Whiteoak suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against North Adams, falling 74-36. While losing is never fun, Whiteoak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while North Adams is ranked 128th).
Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against McClain as Lynchburg-Clay made off with a 62-36 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lynchburg-Clay.
Lynchburg-Clay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jade Massey out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Massey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Addison West was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Whiteoak's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Whiteoak might still be hurting after the 70-44 defeat they got from Lynchburg-Clay when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Whiteoak was down 44-24.
