Mid-Suburban - East recap Oct. 16, 2012
Prospect moved up to 71 from 114 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mid-Suburban - East. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Wheeling 21-7.
Elk Grove took down Buffalo Grove 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Adam O'Malley threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 42 yards in the win.
The Grenadiers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Emmanuel Amofa chipped in 102 yards. Mike Bishoff helped Elk Grove's passing attack out by catching five balls for 51 yards.
John Pass was the best wideout in the league this week as Elk Grove topped the Bison. Pass tallied two receptions for 64 yards.
Elk Grove's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Grenadiers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. O'Malley has thrown for 1281 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Bishoff has 35 catches for 421 yards. Mikey Maize leads the league in rushing with 512 yards.
A big matchup in Mid-Suburban - East this week will be when Larry Calhoun's team takes on Prospect. As it stands, the Grenadiers are in third, while Brent Pearlman's team is in second.
Elk Grove led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Buffalo Grove. O'Malley in the win.
