The Grace Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to South Charlotte T 49-45.
Despite the loss, Grace Academy still got an impressive performance from Kalista Pressley, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Austin Miller was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on nine points, nine rebounds, and ten assists.
South Charlotte T got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryleigh Graves out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graves has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Reeves, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Grace Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for South Charlotte T, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
Grace Academy will square off against South Charlotte T at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Charlotte T focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. They won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greater Cabarrus S at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th.
