The Del Oro Golden Eagles can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They didn't even let Whitney onto the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Del Oro, who have now won three matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Del Oro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Pinnick led the charge by throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Beaux Sauve, who picked up 69 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Whitney, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Del Oro will be playing in front of their home fans against Laguna Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Del Oro likes a good challenge. Whitney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
