The Park City Miners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Green Canyon at home by a decisive 64-46 margin. While losing is never fun, Park City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Green Canyon is ranked 11th).
Park City's loss came despite strong showings from Michael Zagin and Luke Rice. Zagin scored 12 points along with four steals, while Rice scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Donovan, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Park City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Green Canyon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Park City will head out on the road to face off against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stansbury is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Green Canyon will take on Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ridgeline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
