The Rancho Verde Mustangs will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers at 3:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Rancho Verde kept a clean sheet against Rancho Christian. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rancho Verde.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Santa Rosa Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Knights as they made off with a 5-2 win. Santa Rosa Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by three goals or more this season.
They hit Desert Christian with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Phillip Zagone (2),
Dominic Zagone,
Parker Pawlowski, and
Sawyer Ross.
Rancho Verde's win bumped their record up to 7-3-8. As for Santa Rosa Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.
