Section 6 AA recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Niagara Falls, who defeated 67th ranked Lockport, 22-16.
Jamestown extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 AA this week by beating Lancaster, 58-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Red Raiders.
Jacob Sisson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Jamestown beat the Redskins. He completed 18 passes for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 69 yards. Sisson's key target this week was Zach Panebianco, who caught 7 passes for 131 yards.
Kevin Colafranceschi threw for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 12-32 with 1 interception.
Da'quan Hollingsworth was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 74 yards on 13 carries as Tom Langworthy's team defeated Lancaster. Sisson also contributed to the rushing game with 69 yards on the ground.
The Red Raiders' Sisson and Panebianco led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sisson has thrown for 1,211 yards this season, while Panebianco, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 20 catches for 446 yards. Cameron Coon from Frontier leads the league in rushing with 349 yards.
An important game coming up in Section 6 AA this week will be when Chris Dickson's team takes on Orchard Park. The Redskins are in fourth place, while the Quakers are in third place.
The Wolverines moved up to 134 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Niagara Falls was able to move up by defeating the Lions 22-16.
