Wells is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Nelson is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wells Guardians will take on the Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wells has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 290 points over their last six matches.
Even though Franklin scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Wells still came out on top. Wells took down Franklin 74-60.
Wyatt Andler and Marselis Griffiths were among the main playmakers for Wells as the former rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Griffin Scott was another key contributor, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Nelson put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They breezed by Gresham on the road to the tune of 40-7. Given Nelson's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Gresham is ranked 100th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Wells to 8-1 and Nelson to 7-2.
