The Clarkstown South Vikings kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 71-57 fall against White Plains. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading White Plains to victory were Ineivi Plata and Sequoia Layne. Plata scored 25 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds, while Layne scored 30 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Tess Haddad, who scored 9 points.
Clarkstown South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for White Plains, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Clarkstown South will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Ossining at 6:00 p.m. As for White Plains, they will head out on the road to face off against North Rockland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
