The Andalusia Bulldogs will face off against the Excel Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Andalusia's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Greenville. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riley Cravey made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Andalusia is 3-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. Cravey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Asher Bentley was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Andalusia: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ocean Reeves, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Andalusia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Excel had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past the Jaguars 17-2.
Hampton Pharr looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Trent Williams was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Lawrence, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Excel's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Andalusia, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Andalusia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Excel struggles in that department as they've averaged .494. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Andalusia's way against Excel in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Andalusia made off with an 11-0 win. Does Andalusia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Excel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
