The Fernley Vaqueros's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Churchill County Greenwave at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Fernley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Churchill County likes a good challenge.
Even though Spring Creek scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Fernley still came out on top. Fernley walked away with a 73-61 win over Spring Creek.
Fernley found their leader in underclassman Sheldon Jacobson, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jacobson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Williams, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Churchill County was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Dayton 75-46 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Churchill County.
Fernley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. As for Churchill County, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Everything came up roses for Fernley against Churchill County in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 68-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fernley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
