The San Fernando Valley Academy Huskies came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 52-38 win over Highland Hall. That's another feather in the cap for San Fernando Valley Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Fernando Valley Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Herrera, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and five steals. Herrera has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Xzavier Herrera, who scored six points along with six steals and five assists.
San Fernando Valley Academy pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Highland Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Coincidentally, San Fernando Valley Academy and Highland Hall will both be playing Westmark the next time they take the court. Highland Hall will host Westmark at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while San Fernando Valley Academy will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
